MAPS

Maps are large JPG files of 600-900 Kb for printing.  Printed at 200 dpi (dots/inch), they should produce a reasonably sharp print of 7.5 x 10 inches or so. Boundaries shown here are only approximate. Click on a letter below (not on the map) to select a map:

A.  The BLUE box is a piece of this historical map, from 1695. Even for the standards of the time, the spellings are seriously awry in places.

B, C, D, E, F, G.  The RED boxes are photos of the 1973 Ordnance Survey 1:50000 Dorchester-Weymouth sheet. Villages and farms of Jesty interest are highlighted in yellow. The OS grid is shown (faint blue), with major grid markers included. The scale varies a bit: the OS grid squares are 1 x 1 km.
